YOUNGSTOWN STATE UNIVERSITY
Welcome to my Home Page. I hope you will be able to use this Home Page as a way to gain a brief introduction to my teaching and related work at Youngstown University as well as a way in which you can initiate communication with me. This Home Page is under continual revision and reconstruction, so if you have any suggestions as to how this Page can better serve you, please let me know. I am a Professor of Theater at Youngstown State University. As can be seen on my Vita, I have been at YSU since 1980. As a theater generalist, I teach a wide variety of courses, but my areas of special interest include acting, directing, and stage combat. As a program fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST). YSU offers a varied curriculum. For more detailed information concerning courses I teach, including current syllabi and assignments/grading policies, please use the courses link on this page. Students at YSU are encouraged to use the resources of MAAG Library, various journals and publications, and the Internet in their academic work. For a look at research resources available through this Web Site, use the Special Interests link, the Journals link, or the Hot Links. I also have special interests in Stage Combat, Religious Theatre, and Actor Training. For more information on these topics use the Special Interests link. For specific information concerning the University Theater production program, you may use the University Theater link, the Current Season link, or the YSU Fine and Performing Arts link. For a pictorial representation of how YSU students learn the process of making theater, use the Theater Gallery link. YSU's academic program offers three distinct degree tracks: B.A. in theater (liberal arts), B.F.A. in theater (a comprehensive pre-professional theater program combining performance and production skills), and a B.F.A. in Musical Theater (a combined music/theater training program with an emphasis on performance). The theater program at Youngstown State University is the result of collaborative work on the part of YSU faculty, staff, and students. For a look at what some of my fellow Youngstown State University Theater faculty and staff are doing, please check out the specific web pages below:
If you would like further information concerning YSU's theater program, any courses I teach, or my availability as a speaker or workshop presenter, please feel free to contact me directly at: drhenneman@ysu.edu.
